The Outer Colonies are Terran Federation Colonies which were founded farther from the Inner Colonies.
There are currently over 300 outer colonies in Terran Federation space. While most of the Inner Colonies have high Human populations, the Outer Colonies have a more highly diverse population. While many Outer Colonies consist of small outposts with an individual function, a majority of the colonies have multiple functions as well as large populations.
